Eric Linden Wraps Filming 300: Rise of an Empire in Bulgaria… Long over due update to Eric Linden’s official website. Well I can’t believe I haven’t updated my site in almost 9 months. Sorry about that, I always appreciate you guys coming to check up on what I have been up to!!
I have been working in Bulgaria filming 300: Rise of an Empire since May 2012, filming is due to last 6 months!! I have completed filming and I am back in my beloved Los Angeles.
What can I tell you… well really not a damn thing about the movie itself. I can tell you that it has been a very long and interesting life journey to say the very least. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the very best fight / stunt people in the entire business!! And I am very stoked to be part of this team and had this opportunity 🙂
I will make sure the updates to the site keep coming as quickly as there is something worth talking about!!
Here is the plot synopsis via Wikipedia:
The film centres on Themistocles (played by Sullivan Stapleton) and Artemisia I of Caria (played by Eva Green), as well as Xerxes I of Persia, played as in 300 by Rodrigo Santoro. It originally went under the working title of Battle of Artemisium (widely mis-reported as “Battle of Artemisia”). The Battle of Artemisium was a naval engagement, concurrent with the battle at Thermopylae, and was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states and the Persian Empire in September 480 BC, in the straits between the mainland and Thermopylae. The film will probably also focus, in part, on the Battle of Salamis, in which Artemisia played a major role, as well as possibly the Battle of Marathon. Salamis was fought once the Persian Empire had advanced into southern Greece and occupied Athens.
The movie will cover some of the backstory of Xerxes, and will explain how he became “the God King”…
